So Aunty Tech compiled it all for us in a handy document with all the links you'll need to see the blog posts, twitter posts, photos on Flickr, videos on Youtube and links to lots of event session resources.
\nJust start with any one of the links she's posted to get a feel for all the amazing info we were bombarded with at this conference.

Focus on the process of creating a new product, not on the tech tool, and learn content along the way. No more copy & paste!

Oct. 28-30, 2009 at the Denver Convention Center, in the blizzard. Many districts brought school board members, their superintendent, District Tech Coordinator, and other decision-makers. Very impressive when the top people in the district are at the Tech conference!
\n
\nKeynote speaker, Frans Johanssen wrote the current bestseller, "The Medici Effect and Groundbreaking Innovations". He was energized, entertaining, and effective! Can't wait to read the book that tells us we learn the most and are most innovative when we work in diverse groups and let go of old ideas and brainstorm as many new ideas as we can. Eventually, we'll happen upon a GREAT idea that changes things.

\nFAVE sessions: using iTouch in classrooms. The district presenting uses Study Wiz Spark software for iTouch. Very engaging! Wow! Several sessions focused on using various mobile devices to engage students.

\nJeffCo's session on moving their librarians into positions as tech leaders in their buildings was amazing. We can learn a lot from work they've already done.
\n
\nOther sessions included Project-based learning, implementing tech standards, PLNs and collaboration, framing lessons using higher-level questions, and generally revolutionizing education to engage students using technology.
\n
\nTechYES curriculum presentation to engage students in a project-based tech curriculum. Being piloted now at 5 Adams12 middle schools.

\nFast ForWord software for elementary students - called "brain exercises". Students made huge gains on LA state tests and enjoyed the modules. Sounds like another software worth considering.

\nAnother big topic was using open-source software instead of paying for site licenses for applications like Microsoft Office or even Internet Explorer. There are open source applications for library circulation! Some districts are moving completely to open source.
